Why Melatone exists

London has hundreds of aesthetic clinics.
Very few were designed with deeper skin tones in mind.

At Melatone, every treatment protocol is calibrated at your assessment, not assumed. Our laser technology carries three wavelengths specifically so your practitioner can match the right one to your skin. Our skin restoration treatments are chosen for their safety profile across the Fitzpatrick scale. That precision is not standard. At Melatone, it is.

Catia Zaki, Laser Lead (VTCT Level 4) at Melatone Skin Clinic Battersea

Catia

VTCT Laser Specialist

Clinician-led, not salon-operated

Your treatment is delivered
by someone who trained for it.

Laser hair removal at Melatone is delivered by Catia, our Laser Lead (VTCT Level 4). HydroMED Pro facials are delivered by Catia (HydroMED Pro Lead) and Vanessa Paz (HydroMED Pro Support). Every client receives a full Fitzpatrick skin assessment before their first laser session. Settings are confirmed, not assumed.

All medical and injectable treatments are carried out by Zaki, our clinical director, or a member of our clinical team. Melatone does not operate as a chain or franchise. You deal with the same team every visit.

Practitioners

What to expect

What it is actually like.

The clinical detail sits on every treatment page. This is the part people ask us about quietly, usually before they book.

Nothing is rushed

We would rather spend the first twenty minutes understanding your skin than start treating it. Our consultations run long more often than they run short, and that is deliberate.

You will not be pushed

If a treatment is not right for you, or the timing is wrong, we will tell you. Sometimes the honest answer is to wait, or to do nothing at all. We would rather say that than sell you something.

You are checked on throughout

During treatment we ask how you are doing and adjust as we go. If anything feels uncomfortable, say so and it changes. You never have to sit through it politely.

"They really listened to my concerns, and didn't push me into any treatments."

Who treats you

Led by a Physician Associate.

We say that plainly, because it is worth saying plainly. Physician associate is a title protected in law, held on a register kept by the General Medical Council, and that is the standard this clinic is built on.

GMC-registered and NHS trained

Arman Zaki is our founder and clinical lead, a GMC-registered Physician Associate with over five years of NHS clinical experience, and he still practises in NHS general practice alongside the clinic.

The title is protected, and checkable

Physician associate is a protected title, and the register is held by the General Medical Council under the Anaesthesia Associates and Physician Associates Order. Arman's GMC reference is A8131967. You can look it up. He is not a doctor and not a dermatologist, and where a patient has called him one in a review, we have corrected it publicly.

The right hands for each treatment

Laser is delivered by Catia Zaki, VTCT Level 4 in laser and light therapies, under Arman's clinical supervision. Anti-wrinkle treatment and filler are delivered by Rhianna Beckford, an HCPC-registered Paramedic.

Everyone works to a defined scope

If your concern sits outside it, you are referred to the right person, inside the clinic or out to a GP or dermatologist. Never treated by whoever happens to be available. Full scope for every practitioner is on our approach.

Before, during and after

What happens if something is not right.

Most clinics tell you what could go well. This is the other half, and it is a fair question to ask any clinic before you book.

Before

We screen, and sometimes we decline

Medication, pregnancy and breastfeeding, recent sun or fake tan, and the condition of your skin on the day. Some of that means waiting a few weeks. Some of it means no, and we will say so.

During

Someone is named and accountable

You know who is treating you and what they are qualified to do before you sit down, and the clinic carries indemnity cover. Not an anonymous team page, and not whoever is free that afternoon.

After

Written aftercare, not a verbal summary

You leave with aftercare in writing for the treatment you actually had, including what is normal in the days afterwards and what is not.

If needed

Complications are managed here

If something is not settling, you contact us and we see you. Complications management is delivered by Rhianna Beckford, an HCPC-registered Paramedic, rather than referred away.

Common questions

We get asked a lot.

Is laser hair removal safe for my skin tone?
Yes, when performed with the right technology. Older diode-only systems can cause pigmentation changes in deeper skin tones. Our SMARTDiode carries 755nm, 808nm, and 1064nm wavelengths. The 1064nm Nd:YAG is the established standard for treating darker skin safely. Your wavelength settings are confirmed at your £10 patch test before any course begins.
Is there a current offer on laser hair removal courses?
Single sessions and courses of 7 are bookable any time on Treatwell at standard pricing, and your £10 patch test fee is deducted from your course cost. For seasonal course offers, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is currently available.
What are polynucleotides and are they suitable for me?
Polynucleotides (PDRN) are a skin restoration treatment derived from purified salmon DNA. Evidence from clinical studies suggests they may support skin hydration, texture, and tone over a course of treatments. They are administered by our clinical director and are suitable for a broad range of skin types. Individual results vary. A consultation is required before treatment. Visit our dedicated polynucleotides page for full clinical information.
Where is Melatone and how do I book?
We are based at Unit 13A, Battersea Business Centre, 99-109 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5QL. Single sessions and patch tests are booked via Treatwell. Course bookings are handled via WhatsApp at +44 7586 817215. We are open Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri and Sat 10am to 7pm and Sun 10am to 5pm, closed Wednesdays.
What is the HydroMED Pro facial?
The HydroMED® Pro is a 9-in-1 medical-grade facial platform manufactured by MediMD. The platform contains nine integrated tools: foam cleanse, painless Medi Skin Extraction, MediPEEL Hydra (hydradermabrasion), Lymph Drainage, Ice and Fire, Radio Frequency, Facial Ultrasound, Eye Ultrasound, and Facial Contour. Catia, our HydroMED Pro Lead, and Vanessa Paz, our HydroMED Pro Support practitioner, select three to five of these tools per session, curated to your skin assessment that day. Not every session uses every tool. From £79.99 (standard £160) on Treatwell for one-hour protocols (Glass Skin, Acne, Blackhead, Skin Tightening), £65 for the 45-minute eye reset. Learn more about the HydroMED Pro Battersea protocol.
Is Melatone clinician-led, and who runs it?
Yes. Melatone is a clinician-led skin and laser clinic in Battersea, founded by Arman Zaki, a GMC-registered Physician Associate (Ref A8131967, NHS trained), who leads the clinic and delivers skin consultations, polynucleotides and skin boosters. Laser hair removal is delivered by Catia Zaki, VTCT Level 4 laser clinician, under Arman's clinical supervision. Catia also leads the HydroMED Pro facial, supported by Vanessa Paz. Rhianna Beckford, HCPC-registered Paramedic, delivers dermal filler. Every treatment starts with a skin assessment.
What treatments does Melatone offer?
Our core focus is laser hair removal for dark skin and every tone in London, skin boosters including Profhilo, polynucleotides, and the HydroMED Pro hydrofacial. We also offer microneedling, chemical peels, dermal filler and PRP. Every treatment begins with a consultation so we recommend what genuinely suits your skin and goals rather than a fixed package.
Do I need a patch test and consultation before treatment?
For laser hair removal, yes. New clients start with a £10 patch test, which checks how your skin responds and confirms your wavelength settings, and is deducted from your first course. For skin boosters, polynucleotides and other clinical treatments, a consultation with the clinician is required first. There is no obligation to proceed after a consultation.
Are polynucleotides safe for darker skin tones?
Polynucleotides (PDRN) are not a light-based treatment and do not carry the wavelength-related risks of laser for darker skin. Evidence from clinical studies suggests they may be suitable for all Fitzpatrick types (Cavallini et al. 2014). At Melatone, all polynucleotide treatments are preceded by a full skin assessment by Arman Zaki. Individual suitability depends on medical history and skin condition. Results may vary.
Do you treat melasma and hyperpigmentation for skin of colour?
Melatone Skin Clinic in Battersea is a clinician-led aesthetic practice with a primary focus on skin of colour, Fitzpatrick types IV to VI. Arman Zaki, GMC-registered Physician Associate (Ref A8131967), leads consultations for pigmentation concerns including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. All treatment protocols are adapted to the patient's Fitzpatrick type and reviewed against published literature.
Is Melatone suitable for someone who has never had aesthetic treatment before?
Yes. Melatone offers new patient consultations where Arman Zaki assesses your skin concerns, your Fitzpatrick type, and your treatment goals. There is no obligation to proceed after a consultation. The clinic uses a stepwise assessment model for new patients, with the most conservative treatment options offered first before any escalation to more intensive protocols.
